April 1st but no fools at Thrapston as the ladies clinched 3 points that saw them confirmed as Div 2 champions.

With the sun shining down it was a glorious day to win the league, but Woodford certainly made it difficult putting in a solid, hardworking performance for the full 90 minutes for which they deserve great credit.

The first half saw Thrapston create a few chances without ever settling into their normal game and at half time it ended 0-0.

After a half time chat Thrapston started much brighter, attacking at every opportunity but couldn't find the breakthrough goal as Woodford continued to battle for everything. Then Hannah was brought down in the area & she stepped up to take a poor penalty which to Thrapston's relief managed to evade the keeper to take the lead. This lifted Thrapston & the ball spent most of the time in the Woodford half with Hannah adding a second - a great goal this time into the roof of the net.

This effectively sealed the win & with Woodford going down to 10 players through an injury, Thrapston saw the game out with Alice scoring a copy of her goal at S&L a screamer into the top left corner - giving her 4 in 4 games.

Well done to Woodford today - they gave everything and surely deserve to be above their current league position.

POM today went to Vicky - standing in at right back after illness and keeping everyone going.

Finally, it was great to seal the Championship today to cap a season in which so far you are undefeated in the league , have played some super, competitive football & always in the right spirit.

Most importantly you've been a real team - encouraged each other , sometimes moaned at each other, laughed at and with each other, but ultimately stuck together and proved you're winners.

Everyone connected to the team are really proud & pleased for you ,well done.
